Biography

Born in Rio de Janeiro and based in Paris, Roberto Badin brings a cinematic sensibility and exquisite precision to his approach to image making. His work is distinguished by a precise sense of composition, graphic clarity, and the quiet emotion that emerges from everyday scenes.

Having begun his career in fashion photography, Roberto was soon drawn to the technical and poetic potential of still life where he continues to explore the tension between form and feeling.

“Capturing life is the most important part in still life photography.”

His refined visual language has led him to collaborate with major international brands and publications including Cartier, Nespresso, Absolut, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Miu Miu, Chloé, Dior, Clarins, Hennessy, Vogue, L’Officiel, and The New York Times.

Roberto continues to develop a rich body of personal work grounded in observation and narrative. His first book, Inside Japan (Benjamin Blanck Éditions, 2018), was exhibited at the Arles Photography Festival and the Musée des Arts Asiatiques in Nice. His second monograph, Après l’été (37.2 Éditions, 2023), was shown in Paris, Biarritz, and London, marking a continuation of his contemplative exploration of light, architecture, and human presence.
