37.2 Paris - guide

Whether it’s for an extended trip with friends or family, a spontaneous weekend on a whim (to celebrate Shelby’s special birthday in our case), or a hot breakfast date with an ex-lover, LA is always a good idea.

Sun, scene, margaritas and green juice, here’s our take on to play it right in the city of angels.

STAY

37.2 Paris - SUNSET TOWER

Sunset Tower Hotel, West Hollywood

An institution that truly doesn’t need an introduction and lives up to all expectations. The sweeping views of the city are breathtaking, ask for an upper-level room if possible, it won’t disappoint. From the bar we order one of their infamous gin martinis or a more classic espresso martini to beat the jet lag upon arrival. Perfection from start to end, we can’t wait to go back.

37.2 Paris - SVB HOTEL

Hotel 850 SVB, West Hollywood

From the same hotelier yet in a different style, 850 SVB is a small boutique hotel also located in West Hollywood. This historic early 20th century bungalow has been entirely redeveloped and interiors were imagined by Rita Konig. A more private and low-key choice with a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Home away from home.

37.2 Paris - FELIZ HOTEL

Hotel Covell, Los Feliz

A lesser-known yet ultra-chic boutique stay in Los Feliz with only nine rooms. Think moody lighting, custom furniture and a perfectly stocked mini-bar that feels like a curated wine shop.

SHOP

37.2 Paris - EREWHON

Erewhon

Fill your basket up with absolutely everything and anything! From an endless supply of healthy snacks and drinks, to aisles filled with magical lotions and potions and their renowed smoothie station, we understand the hype and are equally as obsessed.

37.2 Paris - HEAVEN

Heaven by Marc Jacobs, Fairfax

A gateway into the sprawling and enigmatic universe of Marc Jacobs, located in the heart of Fairfax. A perfectly creatively curated shopping destination with everything from books to naughties memorabilia and the brand’s latest collaborations.

37.2 Paris - VIRGIL

Virgil Normal, Silverlake

A gem in Silverlake that sells everything from cool streetwear to vintage treasures, indie zines and design objects

37.2 Paris - JUST ONE EYE

Just One Eye, Sycamore

A concept store that merges fashion, art and design in a beautifully curated way. Ultra-exclusive pieces from The Row, Rick Owens and Comme des Garçons alongside limited-edition art and objects.

EAT

37.2 Paris - COMMUNITY GOODS

Community Goods, Silverlake & West Hollywood

Neighborhood café with delicious coffee and matcha, and even better sandwiches. Yes, be prepared to queue. We hate to say it but it’s worth the wait and let’s face it, soaking in the LA sunshine isn’t so bad after all.

37.2 Paris - BESTIA

Bestia, Arts District

In the heart of the Arts District, Bestia is known for it’s industrial-chic design and buzzy atmosphere. The Italian menu, traditional with a modern twist, is perfect for most occasions whether it be a casual meal or a celebratory night out.

37.2 Paris - CANTERS

Canter’s Deli, Fairfax

Another LA institution with a nostalgic taste of old-school Jewish deli fare: the atmosphere, neon signs and vintage décor makes it feel like you’ve stepped into another era. This 24-hour hotspot is famous for its heaping pastrami sandwiches, lox bagels, and classic matzo ball soup. Go with friends so you can order different things from the menu to avoid leaving disappointed. Portions are huge but make sure to leave room for desert (especially the baked goods).

Shelby’s Favorite:

37.2 Paris - EL COYOTE

El Coyote, Beverly Grove

A beloved institution in LA famous for its old-school charm and authentic Mexican cuisine, serving classic dishes since 1931. With a fun and no-frills atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for a lively dinner with friends and the flavors never disappoint.

Nicole’s Favorites:

37.2 Paris - KISMET

Kismet, Los Feliz

Another favorite for dinner — both because of the food, staff and vibes are all so good. They have a Kismet Rotisserie Chicken next door to the main restaurant that makes such good chicken and Wedged salad. I ordered their chicken and wedged salad with pickled beets and roasted potatoes.

37.2 Paris - HONEY HI

Honey Hi

Another Eastside favorite breakfast spot is Honey Hi. I am beyond obsessed with their custom pancakes and buy bags of the mix to take up to my cabin or when I go visit my mom (not kidding) to ensure I eat a proper meal. I could go on about these flap cakes.

Amanda’s Favorite:

37.2 Paris - DOLCE VITA

La Dolce Vita, Beverly Hills

A timeless hideaway tucked beneath the surface of Beverly Hills, La Dolce Vita is one of those rare places that still feels like a secret. With its rich, moody interiors and discreet charm, it almost feels suspended in time. The Italian classics are dialled in, the Negronis are spot on, and there’s a calm, confident energy to the whole experience.

DRINK

37.2 Paris - CHATEAU MARMONT

Château Marmont Bar, West Hollywood

Still one of the most legendary place for a drink in LA, the people watching never disappoints and the vibe is always perfect.

Shelby’s Favorite:

37.2 Paris - TENANTS OF THE TREES

Tenants of the Trees, Silverlake

A very cool, semi-private bar in Silverlake with an intimate atmosphere. With a mix of indoor and outdoor space, it’s a great spot to let your hair down with a combination of great cocktails and a playlist that hits just right.

Amanda’s Favorites

37.2 Paris - EL CID

El Cid, Silverlake

With its slightly worn-in, romantic energy, El Cid is tucked into a quiet stretch of Sunset. It’s part flamenco supper club, part divey haunt, with a candle lit patio that’s the perfect city escape for warm nights.

The Living Room, West Hollywood

The Living Room feels like stepping into someone’s impeccably curated home, with vinyls, vintage design furniture and good tequila. This new member’s club stays low-key with an intimate feel, that works equally well for a solo reset or a night with friends and good conversation.

Nicole’s Favorites:

37.2 Paris - KREATION

Kreation Organic

These days — for juices, I’m addicted to Kreation Organic’s GREEN 3. If anyone comes to visit me at my cabin and so generously asks if there’s anything from the city that I need ... there is but one response. This drink. Two big bottles please and thank you. How I start my day before tea.

37.2 Paris - BOTANICA

Botanica, Silverlake

A local favorite, great for natural wines and yummy sharing plates all set in a beautiful interior. It also has a super cute front of store market with Honey Hi pancake mix to purchase, we highly recommend!

SEE

37.2 Paris - BROAD MUSEUM

The Broad Museum, Downtown

A contemporary art museum in downtown LA featuring works by Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami and other major artists. Its striking architecture and cutting-edge exhibitions make it a must-visit for anyone interested in the modern art scene.

37.2 Paris - LACMA

LACMA

The largest art museum in the western USA is most definitely worth a visit. The permanent collection is truly mind blowing and features all broad range of artistic media. Our two favourites include the Richard Serra’s Band and Michael Heizer’s Levitated Mass, are delight for the eyes and for the soul.

37.2 Paris - MORAN

Morán Morán Gallery, Virgil Village

A sleek, contemporary art gallery tucked away in Virgil Village, known for its eclectic programming and artists, from Robert Mapplethorpe to Keltie Ferris.

Shelby & Nicole’s Favorite:

37.2 Paris - LOS FELIZ THEATHRE

Los Feliz 3 Theatre

Step back in time at this vintage cinema, a hidden gem that brings classic films to life, from cult favorites to timeless masterpieces. This intimate theatre offers a unique movie-going experience, whether you're a die-hard cinephile or just looking for a special night out.

And a special bonus from Nicole Disson

37.2 Paris - PROOF BAKERY

Atwater Village is my home away from home when in LA. First stop I land is Leona Marrs for Accupuncture (she's insanely talented and the person I sometime miss the most when not in the city — aside from Amanda ofc).
After I get an iced hojicha oat latte at Proof Bakery — staple LA spot. Best bakery in town. At noon they serve delicious lunch sandwiches on freshly baked baguettes, the closest LA has to Paris’ plethora of baked goods.

37.2 Paris - MCCALLS

McCall's Meat & Fish Co. just moved from Los Feliz to Atwater and this is our version of a French grocery market. It’s so fantastic. Fish, meat, homemade pastas. A real treat and highly recommended if one needs a break from the insanity that is Erewhon... which was just brought to my attention spells NoWhere backwards (with a w h reversal).
